About Me: Our Stories
I want to hear your stories. Our stories make us who we are.
Our stories are ever-evolving. Professionally, I am a therapist, an attorney, an author, and a law professor. My interest in people and their stories spans all these professions. The transition from law to teaching to therapy practice was almost seamless: learning stories, working with people, and guiding the focus toward change and success are inherent throughout all my chosen helping professions.
As an academic, my scholarship focuses on human behavior: interactions between and among professors and administrators, teaching and learning theory, and the foundations of testing and grading. I wrote a book that simplifies the art of legal writing.
On a personal level, my life is primarily guided by the arts and music. I am a singer and have been in rock bands and sacred choirs. I love to renovate and decorate my home, am a great fan of historic preservation, highly value travel, and love to learn and absorb influences from other cultures. I have lived all over the country, from Boston to California, Seattle to Little Rock, and Denver to Las Vegas. I learned to embrace “ma’am” as an inoffensive salutation. I’ve done improv and karaoke and worked in retail and restaurants. I love to go for walks in any weather except for rain. I have two cats.
